Welcome to Accounting for Lemons, my name is Robin and I am a thirty-something living in Buffalo, NY. I have a love for many things in life. Through my blog I hope to show you all the things I love to do, see, make, you name it, all while keeping you thoroughly interested and entertained and within a budget of course.
I started my career as a hair stylist and esthetician. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would become a career woman climbing the corporate ladder with a Master’s in Accounting. Life threw me some lemons and I made lemonade. (What else is a girl to do?!)
I can honestly say I have no regrets! I have met a lot of intriguing people through the years, many of whom have become the greatest friends a girl could ever dream of having. Also, I have been married for four years (it goes by so fast!) to Jason. Together we have one very loving cat and our first baby on the way! We can hardly contain ourselves while we anxiously await our baby’s arrival this spring.
With the recession in 2009 I hit some hard times financially. My customer base at the salon dropped dramatically. And I decided that I needed to refocus my career choices and head back to school. I spent two years finishing up the remainder of my bachelor’s degree in Business and later dived into my Masters. Taking the plunge and finishing is truly the best thing I could have done for myself and the future of my family.
